Mass of Christian Burial for Elnore Cool, 80, of Marshall, will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 29, 2007, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Marshall. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. â 8:00 p.m. with a CCW Rosary at 4:00 p.m. and a parish prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at Rehkamp â Horvath Funeral Home in Marshall and Thursday from 8:30 a.m. â 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Marshall.
Elnore Marie (Grandpre) Cool was born on January 11, 1927, in Marshall, to Louis and Clarice (Boudreau) Grandpre. She grew up in Green Valley and Marshall and graduated from Marshall High School in 1944. On February 11, she was united in marriage to Donald Cool. The couple raised their family in Marshall and Ghent. For 27 years, Elnore worked at the dental clinic with Dr. Enquist and Dr. Lindgren. Elnore was active with her childrenâs activities, especially swimming meets and other sports activities. She was also active with Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, the Secular Franciscan Order, and the American Legion Auxiliary. Elnore enjoyed time with her children and grandchildren, time at the lake cabin, and visiting with her friends and acquaintances, especially her sister-in-law, Lucy Cool.
Elnore died on Sunday, November 25, 2007, at the Avera Marshall Regional Medical Center after a short illness. She is survived by her sons Michael and Carol of Walker, MN, Skip and William Bartruff of Minneapolis, Mark and Annie of Cape Cod, MA, Paul and Renee of Willmar, grandchildren Kris Cool, Kaylin Torres, Katharine Cool, Cole Stephens-Cool, Alexa McLain and Autumn McLain, great-grandchildren Megan Cool and Jacob Torres, sister Joyce Cody of Rapid City, SD, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Donald, children James, Katherine Mary and Margaret Ann. Memorials preferred to Prairie Home Hospice of Marshall or the Secular Franciscan Order.
