Elsie Helena (Tegels) Ribordy was born on October 30, 1913, in Breda, IA, to Matt and Clara (Schulte) Tegels. When she was eight years old, Elsie moved with her family to a farm in Rural Amiret. On October 30, 1934, she was united in marriage to Cleo Ribordy. The couple lived in Marshall for five years before returning to the home farm near Amiret. Elsie lived here until moving to the Marshall Nursing Home in 2001. Elsie enjoyed dancing, playing bingo, playing cards and spending time in their camper at the lake. She was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church and was active with their lunch committee. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and many pets. Elsie died on Monday, March 30, 2009, at the Morningside Heights Nursing Home in Marshall.
She is survived by her daughter Bon Friesen of Lake Shetek, granddaughters Pam Friesen (and John Meyer) of rural Slayton and Cindy Friesen (and Jim Buysse) of rural Amiret, great-grandson Scott Mahon of Lake Shetek. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
