Emily Ufkin

Emily Barbara Ufkin was born on May 12, 1989, in Marshall to William and Alison (Yorde) Ufkin. She was Baptized and Confirmed at Hope Lutheran Church in Minneota. Emily was the Salutatorian for the Minneota Class of 2007. She was very active in school and participated in Speech, Musicals, Band, Mock Trial, Student Council, the Culinary Challenge Team and the National Honor Society. Emily also worked as a lifeguard and enjoyed helping the girls on the swim team. She was very health conscious and enjoyed physical fitness and a healthy diet. Emily will be remembered for the positive impact she made on all who knew her. She was a very kind and caring person. Emily died on Thursday, July 19, 2007, near Minneota as the result of an automobile accident. She is survived by her parents, Bill and Alison Ufkin, brother Tony Ufkin, grandparents Virgil and Mary Ufkin, all of Minneota, Aunt Jean Ufkin of Minneapolis, Uncles Steve (Adele) Yorde of Marshfield, WI, Jeff Yorde of Marshall, Aunt Robin Yorde and Bob Leineweber of Wilsonville, OR, Uncle Jonathan (Sharon) Yorde of Plymouth, cousins, relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Leo and Barbara Yorde and Ruth Ufkin.
