Enid I. Faltinson age 96 of Westbrook, MN died Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at Maple Lawn Nursing Home in Fulda, MN. Services will be 10:30 Am Monday, August 24, 2009 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Westbrook. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 PM Sunday, August 23, 2009 at Almlie Funeral Home in Westbrook, with a prayer service at 7:00 PM and continuing one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Interment will be at the Westbrook Cemetery. The Almlie Funeral Home of Westbrook is handling the arrangements.
Enid I. Faltinson was born 19 May 1913 to Christian and Rosina (Harnack) Horning on the family farm near Revere , MN in North Hero Township , Redwood County . She was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith. Enid attended grade school in Revere , before attending Lamberton High School , where she graduated in 1930. She then enrolled in Teacherâs College in Mankato for two years. Enid then moved back to the Revere area and taught country school for two years.
On 2 February 1937 Enid married Ted Faltinson at her parentâs home in Revere . They made their home on a farm near Walnut Grove , MN and later moved to a farm near Westbrook , MN . Enid was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Westbrook and very active over the years in the church, in Circle, Ladies Aid and Bible study. She also enjoyed playing cards, crocheting, traveling and dancing, but what she really loved was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Three years ago Enid became a resident of the Country View Senior Living in Walnut Grove, where she remained active every day. On 1 July 2009 she became a resident of the Maple Lawn Nursing Home in Fulda , MN , where she died Wednesday, 19 August 2009 at the age of 96.
Enid is survived by her one son, Mel (Jay) Faltinson of Fulda, MN; twin daughters, Joyce (Rick) Mentzer of Aurora, CO and Janet (O.V.) Opheim of Sioux Falls, SD; two grandchildren, Brian Faltinson of Wauwatosa , WI and Sara Faltinson of Minneapolis , MN ; nieces, nephews and many friends.
Her parents, husband, Ted, three brothers, and three sisters preceded her in death.
