Evelyn Mary Magnuson

Evelyn Mary (Pesek) Magnuson was born on December 31, 1927, in Taunton to Frank and Mary (Kubes) Pesek. On August 22, 1950, she was united in marriage at Sts Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Taunton to Richard Magnuson. The couple were devoted to each other for fifty seven years until his death in 2008. Evelyn was a loving and caring mother, a very accomplished homemaker and gardener. She owned and operated her own business; “Magnuson Draperies.” She worked at the high school and was also head of housekeeping at the Minneota Manor. Her Catholic Faith was very important to her and she spent many hours working for and volunteering at St. Edward Catholic Church. In April of 2017, due to health reasons, Evelyn moved from her home of 61 years, her wonderful neighbors and the community she loved, to Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo. Evelyn died on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo. She is survived by her son Robert (and Dawn) of New Prague, daughters Sher (and Dennis) Ekrem of Minnetonka, Carol (and Greg) Mulder of Montevideo and Terri (and Jay) Weis of Bloomington; grandchildren Sydney and Jordan Magnuson, Lisa and Laura Ekrem, Joel (Megan,) Jeff (Tiffanea) and Eric Mulder, great-grandchildren Emma and Sadie Mulder (Joel’s) Addison and J.R. Mulder (Jeff’s,) sisters-in-law Rita and Donna Pesek, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brothers Frank, Ray, Don and Joseph. Memorials preferred to St. Edward Catholic Church or School.
