Evelyn Marie (Bradtke) Serreyn was born on October 13, 1924, in Ivanhoe, to Carl and Lucille (Popowski) Bradtke. On April 23, 1941, she was united in marriage to Oscar Serreyn. The couple lived in Arco until 1950 when they moved to Marshall. Evelyn worked as a cook in a variety of locations and retired from StAnâs Café on Main Street. Evelyn was very passionate about her birds and fed them daily with her homemade recipes. She also enjoyed her daily six-mile walk. Evelyn enjoyed baking and shared her goodies with friends and family. She also enjoyed word-search puzzles, flowers, gardening, reading and was an avid twins fan. Evelyn died on Monday, October 5, 2009, at the Morningside Heights Care Center in Marshall.
She is survived by her children Donna (and Merle) Hess of Marshall, Shirley (and Jerry) Myhre of Tracy, Linda Ribera of Tracy, Cyril Serreyn of Yankton, SD, Bonnie (and Jim) Plehall of Sibley, IA, Deborah Serreyn, Jeffery Serreyn and Cindy (and Doug) Nuese, all of Marshall, and Brian Serreyn of St. Leo, 24 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, eight great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two sons Bob and Howard, grandchildren Brenda and Bradley Serreyn and Gabe Ribera, one great-grandchild.p>
