Frances Kerkvliet

Frances Mary (Kwiatkowski) Kerkvliet was born on July 10, 1927, in Chicago, IL, to Anton and Helen (Lubinski) Kwiatkowski. At a young age, she moved with her family to Taunton. She attended school and graduated from Minneota High School. On May 26, 1953, Fran was united in marriage to Joseph Kerkvliet at St. Edward Catholic Church in Minneota. The couple made their home and raised their family on a farm North of Marshall. Fran worked as a nurse’s aide and made many crafts at the Minneota Manor. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, canning, golfing and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. After a courageous battle with cancer, Fran died on Sunday, March 2, 2008, at the Minneota Manor in Minneota. She is survived by her husband, Joe, of Marshall, children Douglas (and Becky) of Custer, SD, Barbara (and Tony) Rivera of Newton, KS, Deborah of Marshall, David (and Dee) of Cottonwood, seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter and three siblings.
