Francis Dirckx

Francis Edmond Dirckx was born on November 22, 1930, in Minneota to Jules and Sophie (Loke) Dirckx. At a young age, he moved with his family to Marshall. Fran graduated from Marshall High School in 1948. On July 12, 1952, he was united in marriage to Jean Deutz at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Fran worked as a Dairy Farmer, then for McLaughlin and Schultz for a time before returning to his true passion of farming. Fran enjoyed hunting, boating anD fishing, but what he valued most was time spent with children and grandchildren. He was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church for all of his adult life. Fran died on Sunday August 05, 2007, at the Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jean Dirckx of Marshall, son Bradley (Peg) Dirckx, of Boseman, MT, daughter Jill (Mark) Erickson of Marshall, their children Chad (Rachel), Kelli and DUstin son Josh (Heidi) Dirckx, their children Adam, Ben and NicK, of Marshall, daughter Lori (Paul) Fehrman, their children SaRa, Amanda, Daniel and Christina, of Lake Benton, son Todd (BreNda) and their son Caleb, of Marshall, siblings Geraldine (Barney) Kerkvliet, Edwin (Louise) Dirckx, Shirlee (Dirckx) Bailey, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, two grandchildren, Hannah and Jacob, and brother-in-law Don Bailey.
