Frank Versaevel

Frank Versaevel was born on October 31, 1916, in Marshall, to Leon and Eugenia (Valley) Versaevel. He grew up and attended school in Marshall. Frank served in the U.S. Navy during from 1942 – 1945. After his discharge, he returned to Marshall and began what would be a 41 year career with the Marshall Municipal Utilities. On June 11, 1946, he was united in marriage to Rita Paradis. Frank enjoyed reading, playing cards, riding his bicycle and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of the Marshall VFW. Frank died on Sunday, September 13, 2009, at the Avera Marshall Regional Medical Center. He is survived by his wife, Rita, of Marshall, daughter Beverly Elsen and son Daniel Versaevel of Marshall, granddaughter Brenda (and Mike) Chisholm of Gary, MN, grandson Benjamin (and Holly) Elsen of Balaton, great-grandchildren Carolyn, Tucker, Owen, Brooklyn, Savannah, Morgan, and Alexander, twin-brother Bill (and Clarice) Versaevel. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.
