Garrie was born on August 16, 1954, in Canby, MN, to Ed and Marlys (Gladis) Marczak. He was baptized at St. John Cantius Catholic Church in Wilno and received first communion and confirmed at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Ivanhoe, MN. Garrie was an avid reader and also loved NASCAR racing. He was a very determined, independent man who had a great, dry sense of humor. His strong will to live was amazing! Garrie loved working with his cattle: he had passion and a special connection with them. He had very gentle hands. He also loved camping and a good campfire was always a bonus.
