Gary Huso

Gary Dean Huso was born on June 24, 1953, in Marshall, to Kenneth and Lavina (Holland) Huso. He grew up in rural Minneota and graduated from Lynd High School in 1971. Gary attended Vocational Technical School in Pipestone for Grocery Management for a few years and then worked for the Red Owl Grocery Store in Marshall. In the early 1980s, he began farming with his dad and continued farming until his death. He also worked as a Seed Dealer for Golden Harvest Seed Company. Gary was very passionate about classic cars and enjoyed attending car shows. He also enjoyed spending time with friends at the Roundup, CJs and the Marshall neighbors in “the hood.” He enjoyed traveling to Sioux Falls, Arizona, and other places including local farm shows with his friends.. He was a member of Hope Lutheran Church of Minneota and had served on the church council and cemetery board. Gary died suddenly on Thursday, July 5, 2012, at the Avera Marshall Regional Medical Center in Marshall. He is survived by his sister, Gail Johnson (and significant other Jim Sadler) of Maple Grove, MN, niece Kristi (and Jason) Johnson-Milbrandt of Watertown, SD, Aunt June Pauling of Lamberton and Velma Vickerman of Fairmont, cousins, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and two infant siblings. Memorials preferred to Hope Lutheran Church of Minneota.
