Gerald Paul Kiley was born on March 12, 1956, in Canby, to Joseph and Delores (Polejewski) Kiley. He grew up in Minneota and graduated from Minneota High School. On June 12, 1982, he was united in marriage to Vickie Hentges. Gerry worked for McLaughlin & Schultz for a time and drove truck for a variety of local businesses before health issues prevented him from working. He enjoyed fishing, camping, playing cards, and looked forward to his morning routine of coffee and dice at Bubbaâs. Gerry died on Tuesday, August 26, 2008, at Sanford Health in Sioux Falls after a long battle with M.S. and a short bout of Cancer.
He is survived by his wife, Vickie, of Minneota, mother Delores of Battle Lake, children Sophia (Glen) Tramp of Crofton, NE, Shawn Patch of Sioux Falls, Shalon (Michael) Ahrenholz of New London, Josh (fiancé Stacy) Kiley of Ivanhoe, five grandchildren, siblings Bob (Nancy) Kiley of Otter Tail Lake, Rick Kiley of Coon Rapids, Jo Ann (Butch) Obe of East Lost Lake, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph.
