Geraldine Mae (Schuck) was born on December 23, 1920, in Worthington, to Ervin and Mabel (Anton) Schuck. She attended country schools in Worthington and graduated from the Worthington High School. Jeri then attended two years of Teacherâs Training at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, IA. She taught elementary education in Conrad, IA, and Lake Wilson, MN, from 1941 â 1951. Jeri also served as a Flight Instructor with the U.S. Navy from 1943 â 1945. In 1947, she was united in marriage to Tom Hauge. The couple raised four children and operated the Hauge Egg Company.
Jeri was passionate about education her whole life. She worked as a teacher and in her later years greatly enjoyed participating at the Senior College. She was also passionate about her family and will be remembered as a wonderful mother and homemaker. Jeri was an active member of the Albright United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She also sang with the Sweet Adelines, played with the Ecumenical Bell Choir and volunteered at the SW Womenâs Shelter. Jeri enjoyed reading and crocheting.
Jeri died on Tuesday, December 2, 2008, at the Avera Marshall Regional Medical Center. She is survived by her children David (fiancé Jill Carlson) Hauge of Eagan, Tom (Lisa) Hauge Jr. of Tucson, AZ, Carol (fiancé Mike Buysse) Henderson of Marshall, Barbara (Rob) White of Debary, FL, six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and sister Marjorie Veith of Mt. Vernon, OH. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Tom, daughter Gayle, grandson Matthew and sister Kathryn Mercer.
