Mass of Christian Burial for Gerard Dalle, 47, of Marshall, will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 26, 2011, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Marshall. Visitation will be Thursday from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. followed by a Rosary at Rehkamp – Horvath Funeral Home in Marshall. Visitation will continue from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. on Friday at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Interment will follow the service at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Marshall. Gerard Christopher Dalle was born on March 12, 1964, in Tyler, to Albert and Helen (Poulos) Dalle. He grew up in rural Balaton and graduated from Balaton High School. Gerard worked on the family farm near Balaton and for nearly 20 years worked as a Recycling Technician at Becker Iron & Metal, now Alter Metal Recycling. He enjoyed antiques and collected coins and tractors. Gerard was very well read and followed current events. He will be remembered for his quick wit, his kind heart and his compassion for others. He was a faithful member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. In early July, Gerard was diagnosed with cancer in stage 4. He died on Tuesday, August 23, 2011, at the Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar, under the care of Rice Hospice. He is survived by his father, Albert, and step-mother Irene of Tracy, siblings Mary Dalle of North Augusta, SC, John (and Lupe) Dalle of Marshall, Loretta (and Gene) Ivy of Elgin, TX, Geri (and Dale) Johnson of Lakeville, Roger Dalle of Marshall, David Dalle of Marshall, Cheryl (and Kevin) DeJaeghere of Sioux Falls, SD, Denise (and Greg) Poskas of Elko, MN, Gloria Poulos of Mankato, ReGina Reynolds of Great Bend,KS, Greg (and Michelle) Dalle of Raymond, 12 nephews, and two nieces. He was preceded in death by his mother and sister, Rita.
