Glen Eugene Meyer was born August 6, 1932 to William and Inez (Goldberg) Meyer in St. Peter, MN. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and attended St. Peter High School, graduating in 1950. Following high school, Glen entered the U. S. Army in 1952, during the Korean War and was stationed in Maryland until his honorable discharge as a Corporal in the artillery.
He returned to the St. Peter area after his service time. On July 11, 1960 Glen married Mary Buretta in Iowa and they made their home in St. Peter, where he worked at a lumberyard. In the mid 1960âs they moved to Marshall, MN where Glen worked for Marshall Foods for nearly twenty years. He then went to work in the janitorial service at Southwest State University in Marshall until his retirement in 1996. In the late 1970âs they moved to Lynd, MN where Glen remained living until his death.
Glen died Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at his home in Lynd, MN at the age of 83.
Glen is survived by his son, Scott Meyer of Stewartville, MN; stepson, Todd Buretta of Winona, MN; two grandsons, Bryce Meyer and Tim Greenwood; one sister, Carol Peterson of St. Peter, MN; one brother, George (Marge) Meyer of Plainview, MN; nieces, nephews and friends.
His wife, Mary, his parents, one brother, Don, and one brother-in-law, Elery Peterson preceded him in death.
