Glenn Duane Korman was born on October 12, 1952, to Ardell and Maxine (Stone) Korman in Marshall, Minnesota, and grew up on a farm north of Minneota. He was baptized and confirmed at Hope Lutheran Church in Minneota. He attended Clarkfield Public Schools graduating in 1970. After high school, Glenn moved out to Pierre, South Dakota, and worked at a ranch. He then moved back to the Minneota area where he worked for several years as a truck driver.
On April 23, 1977, Glenn was united in marriage to Joan Sumerfelt at Hope Lutheran Church in Minneota. They made their home in the Minneota area for several years, moved to Texas for a short time, then moved back to Minnesota and made their home in the Park Rapids area. In 1985, Glenn started working for the State of Minnesota as a driverâs license examiner and later transferred to the State Board of Animal Health as a law compliance officer. Glenn was also involved with the Park Rapids Sheriffâs Mounted Posse.
Glenn enjoyed rodeos, horses, hunting, singing, and spending time with his friends and family.
Glenn died on March 20, 2014, at the St. Joseph Health Systems in Park Rapids after a courageous battle with cancer.
He is survived by his wife Joan Korman of Park Rapids; one daughter, Shannon (John) Helgeson of Westbrook; three grandchildren, Sawyer, Ani, and David; two brothers, John Korman of Minneota, and Don (Cathy) Korman of Ghent; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. His parents and two brothers preceded him in death.
