Gloria Jeanette Drengson Teigland

Gloria Jeanette (Drengson) Teigland was born on May 6, 1929, in Marble Township, Lincoln County, to Andrew and Florence (Anderson) Drengson. She grew up in Canby and graduated from Canby High School. After graduation, she worked for the Canby Newspaper. On October 10, 1948, she was united in marriage to Henry Teigland at St. Stephens Church in Canby. The couple made their home and raised their family on the Teigland family farm in Nordland Township. In January of 1986, they moved to Clearwater, Florida, and returned in 2001. No matter where Gloria and Henry lived, their home was an open, loving and caring gathering place for all they came in contact with. Gloria enjoyed music. She played piano and organ and was organist for her church for 50 years. She also enjoyed cross stich, the challenge of a difficult crossword puzzle, reading, playing board games, especially Yahtzee, and spending time with those she loved and cared for throughout her life. Gloria’s love for her family was deep and all-encompassing and she enjoyed every moment that she could spend with each one. She was a kind and gentle soul who always put others first and she lived to bring glory and honor to her personal Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Gloria died on Tuesday, April 14, 2015, at the Avera Morningside Heights Care Center in Marshall. She is survived by her children Jerry (and Dorie) Teigland of Minneota, Shirley Teigland of Minneota, Sue (and John) Schreier of Minneota and Larry (and Pat) Teigland of Minneota, grandchildren Christopher Schreier of Minneota, Sarah (and Dan) Hanson of Fergus Falls, Angela (and Aaron) Greenwald of Durham, NC, Thomas Schreier of Sioux Falls, SD, Nicole (and Derek) Thorson of Roseville, MN, and Terry Schreier of Marshall, MN, great-grandson Titus Thorson, great-granddaughter Hazel Hanson, sister Marvel Coil of Montevideo, MN, sister-in-law Audrey Bengtson of Canby, MN, sister-in-law Marianne Drengson of Hillman, MN, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband and companion Henry, brother Dorance and sister Delores.
