Gordon John Boerboom

Gordon John Boerboom was born to Thresa (Bonte) and John C. Boerboom in Stanley Township, Lyon County, Minnesota on July 6, 1942. He was Baptized, Confirmed and was a lifetime member of St. Clotilde Catholic Church in Green Valley, Minnesota. After graduating from Marshall High School, Gordon went to farm with his dad. On December 2, 1967, he married Carolyn Braun at St. Leo Catholic Church in St. Leo, Minnesota. They made their home on a farm in Stanley Township where they raised their five children. Family and farming were Gordon's passion. He served as treasurer of the Stanley Township Board for 22 years, served on Lyon County Farm Bureau Board, and the St. Clotilde Cemetery Board. Gordon was also a member of the St. Clotilde Holy Name Society, and a lifetime honorary member of the Knights of Columbus Fourth Degree.

Gordon died unexpectedly on Saturday, September 2, 2017, at his residence in rural Marshall. He will be dearly missed by his wife, Carolyn, children Curt (and Coreen), Todd (and Roxanne), Bradley, Rebecca (and Scott Regnier), and Brenda (and Tim) Lehmann, grandchildren Jordan, Kelsey, John, Ashley, Shanna, Jack and KC Boerboom, Brett, Garett, and Sam Regnier, brother Greg (and Paula) Boerboom, sisters Angeline (and Dave) Bratrud, Sharon (and Jim) Theuninck, Shirley (and Dennis) Kerkaert, JoAnn (and Art) Hoffmann, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Gilbert and nephew Mark Bratrud.
