Grace Koch passed away peacefully at the Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota on Friday, February 2, 2018 at the age of 89. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at St. Edward Catholic Church in Minneota, Minnesota at 11:00 AM with a visitation taking place one hour prior at the Church. Grace will be laid to rest in St. Cyril and Methodius Cemetery in Taunton.
Grace Ann (Forys) Koch was born on July 28, 1928, one of four children to Albert and Elizabeth (Gorecki) Forys in Arco. She attended grade school in Taunton. After school Grace married Charles Koch, October 12, 1948, this union was blessed with one child, John. Grace and Charles raised their family on a farm outside of Porter. They had livestock and farmed the land they loved. Grace enjoyed the outdoors and could often be found out walking enjoying nature or tending to her beautiful flower and vegetable gardens. Grace was an excellent baker and cook, making all of their meals and breads from scratch. In the evenings and winters, she embroidered pillow cases, scarves and hundreds of sets of dish towels. The dish towel sets that she embroidered she poured her heart and talent into and then donated to the senior center. She was a private but giving person.
Grace entered into her eternal life on February 2, 2018. She is survived by her son, John Koch; brother, John Forys; sister-in-law, Lillian Koch; many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles; parents, Albert and Elizabeth Forys; sister, Bernice (Charles) Baele; brothers, Paul (Elaine) Forys, George (Lillian) Halde; sister-in-law, Carolina Forys; nephews, John and Daniel Forys.
