Mass of Christian Burial for Grace Vercruysse, 95, of Canby, will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 3, 2021, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Marshall. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will follow the service at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Marshall. Grace Marie (St. Aubin) Vercruysse was born on November 16, 1925, in Marshall, MN, the oldest of ten children born to John and Elizabeth (Dandurand) St. Aubin. She grew up in rural Marshall and attended country school. On April 18, 1950, she was united in marriage to Paul Vercruysse at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.
Grace enjoyed fishing in her younger years. She also enjoyed playing cards and bingo and visiting family. She was very talented with crafts and recently diamond art. She was a really good cook and will be remembered for her baking, especially Belgian cookies, rolls and rosettes. She also enjoyed gardening and canning. For the last couple of years, Grace had been living at the Sanford Health Sylvan Court in Canby.
Grace died on Friday, October 29, 2021, at the Sanford Health Sylvan Court in Canby. She is survived by her children Diane (and Ron) Tholen of Excelsior, Paula (and David) Belaen of Minneota, Pauline (and Donald) Hasert of Minneota, Dan (and Diane) Vercruysse of Tyler, Dennis (and Beth) Vercruysse of Minneota, Donna (and Tom) Grengs of St. Leo, 17 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, siblings Richard (and Margaret) St. Aubin of Russell, Lawrence (and Judy) St. Aubin of Marshall, Dennis St. Aubin of Marshall and Maxine (and Albert) Kerkaert of Russell, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Paul, siblings Louis St. Aubin, Bernard St. Aubin, Lorraine Gruhot, Vincent St. Aubin and Ronald St. Aubin, an infant grandson Stephen Vercruysse and son-in-law Curtis Dobrenski.
