Gregory John Kesteloot was born on December 26, 1936, in Ghent to Omer and Theresa (Boerboom) Kesteloot. He grew up in Ghent and graduated from Central Catholic High School in Marshall. From November of 1955 through October of 1957, Greg served in the U.S. Navy. After his honorable discharge, he returned to Ghent. On August 8, 1959, he was united in marriage to Judy Manderscheid at St. Martin Catholic Church in Woodstock. The couple farmed and raised their family north of Marshall until retiring and moving to Marshall in 2003. Greg then worked part time for Helena. Greg was an active member of St. Eloi Catholic Church in Ghent his entire life. He enjoyed farming, feeding cattle, riding horse, fishing, playing cards and rolle bolle. He also enjoyed spending time in Texas with his friends and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. Greg died suddenly and unexpectedly on Monday, March 24, 2014, at his winter residence in Donna, TX. He is survived by his wife, Judy, of Marshall, children Scott Kesteloot of Monroe, SD, Steve Kesteloot of Marshall, Shelly (and Quinn) Peltier of Cottonwood, grandchildren; Aidan and Ashton Kesteloot, Nicholas and Colton Kesteloot, Brooklin and Mitchell Peltier, sister-in-law Carol Kesteloot, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his brothers; Harry, Vic, John and Joe and sisters; Marie Caron, Cecil Meinzer and Bernadette Brandt. Memorials are preferred to the Avera Marshall Cancer Institute.
