Funeral Service for Hazel Anundson, 87, of Minneota, will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 3, 2008, at the Yellow Medicine Lutheran Church in Hanley Falls, MN. Visitation will be Friday from 7:00 p.m. Ãâ 9:00 p.m. and Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at the Stony Run Cemetery in Stony Run Township. Hazel Caroline (Hegna) Anundson was born on January 10, 1921, in Granite Falls to Martin and Ingeborg (Holmgren) Hegna. She grew up in Granite Falls and graduated from Granite Falls High School in 1938. In October of 1939, she was united in marriage to Carl Anundson in Maynard. The couple lived in Stony Run Township before moving to a farm and raising their family in rural Hanley Falls. After retirement, they moved to Cottonwood and later to Minneota. Hazel enjoyed quilting, sewing, and selling Tupperware. Her family was her primary focus. She especially enjoyed spending time with and hosting her grandchildren. Hazel died on Wednesday, April 30, 2008, at the Minneota Manor in Minneota.
She is survived by her husband, Carl of Minneota, children Angie (Gene) Tople of St. Cloud, Rose (Tom) Wisdorf of Cottonwood, Mary (Jeff) Timm of Alexandria, Kevin (Karla) Anundson of Minneota, 13 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, sister Mabel Johnson of Granite Falls, sisters-in-law Lois Hegna, Arleen Hegna, Thea Kraakaas, Myrtle Hemmingson, and Adeline Just, all of Granite Falls, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, infant son Keith, brothers William and Jerome Hegna, sisters Florence Stoa, Ellen Holien, Marion Holien and Catherine White.
