Helen Jeremiason

Helen was born on December 30, 1921, in Eidsvold Township, the daughter of Gilbert and Bertina (Heggeseth) Johnson. She graduated from Minneota High School in 1939. She married Arthur Jeremiason June 16, 1943, in Texas. Helen and Art farmed in Nordland Township until retiring in 1980. Helen worked on the farm raising her family of seven children. She was in a bowling league and a longtime member of the Nordland Social Circle. She was a lifetime member of Hemnes Lutheran Church and Ladies’ Aid. She enjoyed playing cards (ruthlessly), crocheting, baking and she especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren teaching them to bake and supervising lefse making so they could carry on the tradition. Her sense of humor and quick wit were traits for which she will be fondly remembered. Helen is survived by five children: Glenn (Patti) Jeremiason of Taunton, Bonnie (John) Kane of Prior Lake; Bruce (Connie Johnson) of Minneota, Ruth Jeremiason-Jensen (Dave) of Little Falls, Sheila (Ron) Bloomquist of Taunton and son-in-law David Pohlen. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and step grandchildren: Tonya (Travis), Chris (Sarah) and Angela Jeremiason, Tim Ingram; Brad, Brian (Davett) and Marcy Jeremiason, Sara (Ryan) Donnay and Mary Johnson; Dan and Katy Jensen; Sean and Luke Pohlen; and Kyle (Audria) Bloomquist and 10 great grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother, Gilbert “Don” Johnson of Marshall. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, husband Art; son Dean, daughter Linda Pohlen, granddaughter Denise Bloomquist, seven brothers: Elmer, Truman, Walter, James, Clifford, Jens and Stanley and one sister Agnes Telste.
