Henrietta Eernisse

Henrietta Eernisse age 93 of Chandler, MN died Thursday, May 9, 2013 at the Edgebrook Care Center in Edgerton, MN. Services will be 11:00 AM Monday, May 13, 2013 at the Chandler Reformed Church. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 PM Sunday, May 12, 2013 at the Chandler Funeral Chapel and continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Interment will be in the Chandler Memorial Cemetery, with a luncheon served immediately afterward in the church social hall. The Chandler Funeral Association is handling the arrangements. Henrietta Eernisse was born November 15, 1919 to Jake and Gertrude (De Raad) Vande Brake on a farm near Edgerton, MN, Pipestone County. She was baptized and professed her faith in the Reformed Church in Edgerton and attended country school. On February 1, 1940 Henrietta married John J. Eernisse in Chandler, MN and they made their home on a farm northeast of Chandler. They farmed there for fifty four years until 1994, when they retired and moved into Chandler. Henrietta then moved into the Edgebrook Estates in 2005. She was a member of the Chandler Reformed Church and was active in the church’s Ladies Aid. John and Henrietta were active in helping when the church was built. She enjoyed gardening, vegetables and flowers, sewing, embroidery, bowling and playing cards. Henrietta and John also enjoyed traveling to Indiana to visit their sons every year, and help sell Christmas trees. In March of 2013 Henrietta became a resident of the Edgebrook Care Center where she died on Thursday, May 9, 2013 at the age of 93. Henrietta is survived by her daughter, Carol (Larry) Van Dyke of Chandler, MN; two sons, Allen (Linda) Eernisse of Solsberry, IN and Leon (Sandy) Eernisse of Bloomington, IN; eight grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; four brothers, Duane (Ora) Vande Brake of Mt. Washington, KY, Larry (Alice) Vande Brake of Bellflower, CA, Vernon Vande Brake of Placerville, CA, and Melvin (Dee) Vande Brake of Imley, NV; sister-in-law, Grace Vande Brake of Bellflower, CA; nieces, nephews and friends. Her husband, John Eernisse, her parents, five brothers, Orville, John (Grace), Dewey (Cornelia), Jake (Arlis) and Gary Vande Brake, sister, Margaret (Tony) Veld, sister-in-law, Audrey Vande Brake, preceded her in death.
