Harold John âJakeâ Seifert was born on October 3, 1926, in Vail Township, Redwood County, to Jacob and Alma (Huber) Seifert. Jake attended country school, St. AnneÃâs Catholic Grade School and graduated from Wabasso High School in 1944. He served in the U.S. Army from April 1945 Ãâ December 1946 with the 24th Division Headquarters in Japan. On September 5, 1950, he was united in marriage to Delores Vogl at St. MichaelÃâs Catholic Church in Morgan. Jake was employed with Botsford Lumberyard in Redwood Falls until 1964 when he was transferred to Minneota to be the Manager of United Building Centers, Inc until his retirement in 1989. After retirement, he helped at the Minneota Senior Center during construction and later as janitor until 1995. He enjoyed gardening, bowling, watching all sports and his grandchildren. Jake was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church and served as an officer with Catholic Order of Foresters, Minneota Housing Corporation, the American Legion Post 199 and the Minneota Lions Club. He died on Monday, March 26, 2007, at Sanford Health, Canby Campus. Jake is survived by his wife Delores of Minneota, children Julie (and Walt) Kautz of Slayton, Jeffery (and Debra) Seifert of St. Cloud and Jane (and David) Boniface of Wyoming, MN, grandchildren Allison (and Joe) Tetrault, Jesse (and Danielle) Kuechle, Matthew and Sarah Kautz and David, Jordan and Austin Boniface, four great grandchildren, sisters Fidelis Steinke and Mary Ann (and David) Steffl. He was preceded in death by his parents.
