Howard Louis Jensen was born on October 15, 1926, in Primghar, IA, to Jens and Margaret (Ahlers) Jensen. As a child, he moved with his family to Round Lake, MN. After his schooling, he enlisted in the U.S. Army. On October 17, 1948, he was united in marriage to Elloween Huebner. The couple farmed near Mountain Lake until 1960. Howard then went to work for Armour & Company as a Livestock Purchaser. Through his career, the couple lived in several communities in Southwest Minnesota including Ivanhoe, Pipestone, Worthington and Minneota. Howard enjoyed fishing, hunting taking care of his lawn, gardening and watching the Twins and Vikings. After his retirement, he enjoyed woodworking, especially building wood toys. Howard died on Tuesday, September 20, 2011, at the Minneota Manor in Minneota.
He is survived by his wife, Elloween, of Minneota, children Steven (and Cris) Jensen of Altus, OK, Dave (and Bev) Jensen of Redwood Falls, Pat Jensen of Sioux Falls, SD, Paulette (and Keith) Morgan of Rochester, NY, Pete (Bette) Jensen of Maricopa, AZ, seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one great-granddaughter.
