Preceded in death by his parents, 10 brothers and sisters, grandson Mark and his wife Margaret of 59 years. Ivo was a lively and vibrant man who had an extraordinary zest for life and everything he did. He was an open and spiritual person whose curiosity and enthusiastic love of learning and physical activity were contagious. Activities that Ivo enjoyed with his family and friends included year round hunting and fishing, roller skating, archery, playing the harmonic, dancing, down-hill skiing, and golf. Anyone who had even the briefest interaction with him was profoundly affected. Ivo and his wife Margaret operated a dairy business in the area then moved to Marshall in 1967 and Ivo worked as a heavy equipment operator at a local sand/gravel company. He enjoyed helping and giving with neighbors and friends was an active member of Holy Redeemer Churchâs youth groups and served as a Eucharistic Minister, volunteered for many years at the Senior Citizens Center in various capacities including Meals-on-Wheels, and was a dedicated participant of Marshall Area clean-up committees. Ivo was a truly unique individual and will leave an empty space in the world. Although he has left this physical world, he will continue to inspire all those blessed enough to have known him. The lesson that Ivo has left or all of us is to celebrate a Christian life and live it to the fullest. Ivo will be missed by those who called him Dad, Grandpa, colleague, mentor, neighbor or friend, and everyone lucky enough to have enjoyed his sense of humor his lively spirit, his joy and irrepressible love of people. The family would like to give a special thank you to Father Paul L. Wolf, Holy Redeemer Church, the Prairie Home Hospice and their excellent staff of nurses and care givers.
