Jacqueline (Jackie) Sue Mitchell

Jacqueline Sue (Orvis) Mitchell was born on December 4, 1949, in Slayton, MN, to Roy C. and Mable (Muck) Orvis. She grew up in Slayton and graduated from Slayton High School. Jackie then attended vocational training in Jackson. On June 20, 1986, she was united in marriage to Dean Mitchell. Jackie worked at the Turkey Plant in Marshall for 28 years. She later worked for Johnny Craft in Wabasso and Country Enterprises in Lucan before her retirement. Jackie was passionate about her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed raising her pet goats and following her favorite television programs with her granddaughters. She also enjoyed bird watching, especially her finches. Jackie died suddenly on Thursday, March 6, 2014, at the Avera Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. Survivors include her husband Dean, of rural Vesta, daughter Becky (and Eric) Fox of Garvin, granddaughters Brittnee, Reagan and Hope, siblings Lois, Kay and Sonny, and Sharon and her family, David Mitchell and family, Jennifer Hewett and family, special nephews Tom and Jeff. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Rosemary, Pat and Joyce.
