James Francis Meulebroeck was born on December 11, 1949, in Marshall, to Raymond and Adeline (Lanoue) Meulebroeck. In 1962, the family moved from the Cottonwood farm to a farm near Balaton. He graduated from Russell High School in 1967. Jim attended vocational technical school in Jackson for two years and served six years in the National Guard. On August 26, 1972, he was united in marriage to Lynda Mork at St. Dionysius Catholic Church in Tyler. In 1974, Jim and Cy Schroeder purchased Coleman Electric in Marshall. Jim thoroughly enjoyed his job. He was passionate about helping people and he made friends of all of his customers. Jim was very social and outgoing and seemed to know someone where ever he went. He was very involved with the community. Jim looked forward to Saturday Morning coffee at Hardees where he caught up on what was going on around town. In 2000, he purchased Cyâs share of the business and recently sold Coleman Electric to his son, Brad. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed taking them to the farm, following their activities, and napping in his chair while they played all around him. He will thoroughly be missed but his memory lives on in all the great stories we have of him.
He died on Monday, July 30, 2012, at the Priaire Home Hospice House in Marshall, after a strong and courageous one year battle with esophageal cancer. He went to be with his Savior.
