Jane Loretta Bednarek

Funeral services for Jane Bednarek, 86, of Marshall will be on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Living Word Lutheran Church in Marshall.  Visitation will be Tuesday, September 13, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church. Interment will follow at the Marshall Community Cemetery in Marshall. 

Jane died on Thursday, September 8, 2022, at the Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD.

Jane Loretta Bednarek was born on July 17, 1936, to Catherina (Kindelberger) and Ed Bursack near Taunton, MN. She grew upon the family farm and attended School District 33. On the farm she would faithfully milk the cows both before and after school. She loved her black horse and especially white horses. She would ride her horses to the neighbors or to town. 

She was blessed with three children from her first marriage: Sue (Rick) Revel of SC, the late Cathy Thovson of Marshall, MN and the late Norm Thovson of Jasper, MN.

Jane worked at the Porter Cafe, Canby Bakery, and Parakate Inc of Canby. She finished her career at BH Electronics of Marshall where she worked for 27 years. 

On November 29, 1983, she was united in marriage to Archie Bednarek. They enjoyed living on their hobby farm near Marshall, MN. They were inseparable from day one. They had the perfect marriage of almost 39 years and never argued even once. Archie said she was his angel from heaven. She was Archie's right arm and he was her left arm. They worked side by side helping each other and what he couldn't do she did and vice versa. 

Jane was a truly beautiful lady inside and out. She was the purest spirit you ever met and never held a grudge. She had a heart of gold and loved all people and children. She always had a hug for everyone she met. She always called everyone sweetheart but she was the true sweetheart. Whenever she would meet a child she would always give them candy or a quarter. She was a faithful servant of God and enjoyed going to church at Living Word Lutheran Church in Marshall. She loved  old country and gospel music. She read the bible every morning with her husband and held a strong faith in the Lord's promise. 

In their younger years, they traveled to 32 different states on vacations where they liked to do a lot of hiking. Jane loved polka dances, fishing, family and social gatherings. Everyday she would take a two mile walk with her husband and the neighbor. She also enjoyed baking, gardening, flowers, puzzles and playing cards.

Jane is survived by her husband Archie; daughter Susan (Rick) Revel of SC; grandsons Neil Thovson of Duluth and Daniel Thovson of Marshall, granddaughter Stacey Revel of CA; three great-grandchildren Alicia, Matt and Allie Thovson; one sister Dorothy Lipinski of Londsdale, MN; and many nieces and nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents Ed and Catherine Bursack; three brothers Ervin, Fred and David; three sisters Eldora, Ruth and Viola; son Norman and daughter Cathy; and her grandson Matthew.
