Jane (Meisinger) Louwagie was born on June 29, 1953 in Springfield, MN to George and Lucy (Groebner) Meisinger. Jane grew up in Springfield, MN and attended St. Raphael’s Catholic School through the 8th grade. She graduated from Springfield High School in 1971 then continued her education completing an accounting degree at Canby Vo-Tech in 1973. Jane was a key punch operator at Kelco Economette Company in Marshall, MN from 1973 – 1977.
Jane married Douglas Louwagie on October 30, 1976 at St. Raphael’s Catholic Church in Springfield, MN. The couple moved to Milroy where they would raise their three children Corey, Jamie, and Katie. Jane was a daycare provider for 30+ years, caring for countless children, while also supporting her husband Doug as they ran G&R Electric in Tracy, MN.
Jane’s family was the center of her world. She modeled true love as her husband’s number one caregiver during his battle with Parkinson’s Disease. Jane took every opportunity to visit her children and be a part of her grandchildren’s activities. She loved having the family together and always supplied the food, especially for family cabin trips. She was an active member in St. Michael’s church volunteering to wash church linens and help count money. Jane also volunteered in her community helping with blood drives and acted as an election judge.
Jane passed away unexpectedly at home on March 20, 2023.
Jane is survived by her children, Corey (Alisa) Louwagie, Jamie (Kristina) Louwagie, Katie (Travis) Schreier, grandchildren Olivia, Tyler, Lucas, and Samuel Louwagie, Landon, Lyla, and Lenox Louwagie, Isaac and Morgan Schreier, sisters Kathy (Duane) Haugen, Ruth (Juan) Medellin, in-laws Dennis (Evelyn) Louwagie, Bob (Linda) Louwagie, Dean (Linda) Louwagie, Diane (Dave) Hennen, Greg (Diane) Louwagie, Bev (Dave) Peterson, Pat (Laurie) Louwagie and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband Doug, parents George and Lucy, in-laws Emil and Bertha Louwagie, brother Bob Meisinger, brother-in-law John Cederberg, nephews Eric Hennen, Grant Medellin, and Doug Theis.
