Jane Dorothy Flood was born on April 28, 1956 to Cyriel and Lorraine (Bottelberghe) Vlaminck in Marshall, Minnesota. She attended grade school at St. Edward Catholic School and graduated from Minneota High School in 1974. Jane married Jeff Flood on November 22, 1975 at St. Edward Catholic Church. They lived in rural Minneota before moving to Porter in 1981.
Jane loved to read, garden, go camping with her family, and shopping with her sisters. Family was the focus of Jane’s life, caring for her children, grandchildren, and her parents in their later years. She touched many lives.
Jane died Tuesday, September 27th, 2016 at the Minneota Manor in Minneota, after a battle with lung cancer. Jane is survived by her husband Jeff of Porter, daughters Rachel (George) Flood-Grubb of Nicollet and Rhonda (Dustin) Hauschild of Springfield, and five grandchildren: Hannah, Charlie, and Nick Grubb, and Kyliey and Brynn Hauschild; sisters Mary (Jerome) Jerzak of Ivanhoe, Audrey (Ron) Weverka of Hendricks, Diane (Larry) Anderson of Brookings, SD and Carol (Doug) Hoffman of Parkers Prairie; mother-in-law Jylan Flood (Bernie Pitman) of Watertown, SD; in-laws Gina (Doug) Bernardy of Kenosha, WI, Jim Flood of Lynd, Bill (Janet) Flood of Porter, Judy (Mark) Timm of Columbus, NE, and Ruth (Steve) Shellenberg of Marshall. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cyriel and Lorraine Vlaminck, her father-in-law James Flood, and her brother Peter Vlaminck.
