Jane Mary (Hamerlinck) Louwagie was born on December 16, 1937, in Minneota to Alfonce and Elsie (Geurs) Hamerlinck. She was baptized and received her sacraments at St. Edward Catholic Church in Minneota. Jane graduated from Minneota High School in 1955. Following high school, she worked at the bank in Minneota. On February 13, 1957, she married the love of her life, Ernie Louwagie. The couple farmed and raised their family near Green Valley. They shared 61 years together. In 2015, they moved to a condo in Marshall. Jane was an active member of St. Clotilde Catholic Church in Green Valley and sang in the choir. After her children were grown, she worked at the Cottonwood Golf Course & Country Club, Cooks Clothing in Marshall, and for many years worked as a supervisor at Hardee’s in Marshall and Granite Falls. Jane enjoyed baking, shopping, travelling, and playing cards. She was very social and belonged to a couples and ladies card group. Jane was happiest spending time with her family and friends and “sister time” always made her life complete. She also enjoyed going to her grandchildren’s activities as she was so proud of all of them. Jane died peacefully on Tuesday, March 31, 2020, at the Prairie Home Hospice McLaughlin House in Marshall. She is survived by her children Wayne (and Mary) Louwagie of Marshall, Conni (and Stan) Stensrud of Marshall, Gwen Krone (and fiance’ Oscar Melendez) of SanAntonio, TX, and Lisa (and Dan) Gregoire of Cottonwood, grandson Preston (and Crystal) Stensrud, great-grandhildren Keygan, Asher, and Beckett; grandson Perry Louwagie (and Jana Nicholson and her daughter Madalyn); granddaughter Heidi (and Tony) Lopez, great-granddaughter Adilyn; granddaughter Danica (and Ross) Garrant, great-grandchildren Sylas and Kovyn; granddaughter Lexie (and Jance) Vandelanotte, great-grandchildren Kylie and Lincoln; grandson Skyler (and Katie) Stensrud, great-grandchild Rhett (born 4/18/2021); granddaughter Shay Gregoire; twin sister Jean (and Jim-passed away 6/2/2020) Wambeke, sisters Joyce Downing and Judy Hamerlinck (and Tom Streeter), in-laws Cletus (and Lorraine) Lanners, Dick Vroman, George (passed away 11/19/2020) (and Cathy) Louwagie, Bernice (and Chuck) Fischer, Darlene Weber (and Jim Lindquist), Shirley Schulz (and Rick Perry), and many special nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. She filled our lives with kindness, laughter, and love and her passing will leave a tremendous void. Blessed be her memory.
