Jean Margaret (King) Neiman was born August 27th, 1924 in Redwood Falls, Minnesota to parents Raymond King and Hazel Browne King. As a child Jean moved with her family to Mankato where she went to school and had various jobs and also graduated from Business College.
On August 1st, 1941 she became engaged to Leslie Neiman and they were later married on August 29th, 1943 in Tracy, Minnesota.
Leslie enlisted in the 82nd Airborne and was sent overseas and Jean remained in Tracy and later moved to California until Leslie returned home. Leslie and Jean had four daughters, Hazel, Lesley, Pat and Jeanmarie.
In 1956 Les and Jean moved to Marshall, Minnesota. They were members of First Lutheran Church where Jean taught Sunday school and later she worked for the Sears and Roebuck store. She belonged to the Avera Hospital Auxiliary and was a volunteer for many years at the Auxiliary Thrift Store (where she was also their best customer).
Jean enjoyed reading, loved poetry and doing crossword puzzles, she knew her bible and read it daily. She loved her children and grandchildren and enjoyed visiting with her many friends.
Jean is survived by daughters Hazel (Tom) Muller of Red Wing, MN, Lesley (Jerry) Brooks of Scranton, ND, Pat Lanoue (Gordy Loyson) of Marshall and Jeanmarie (Dean) Wellnitz of Delano, MN, 9 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and one cousin Doug
Jean was preceded in death by her parents, brother Douglas, sisters Mary and Grace and husband Leslie. Memorials are preferred to Prairie Home Hospice in Marshall, Minnesota.
