Jeffrey Alan Cleland

Jeffrey A. Cleland age 55 of Tracy, MN died Thursday, June 3, 2010 at his home on Lake Shetek. A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, June 26, 2010 at the Almlie Funeral Home in Tracy. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Saturday. A luncheon will be served following the service. The Almlie Funeral Home of Tracy is handling the arrangements. Jeffrey Alan Cleland was born July 19, 1954 in Warroad, MN, Roseau County. He was adopted as an infant by Herbert and Lucille (Coyle) Cleland and was raised in Luverne, MN. He was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith and attended Luverne Public Schools, graduating from Luverne High school in 1972. Jeff then attended Mankato State University in Mankato, MN where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science. On June 10, 1977 Jeff married Karen Skenzich in Eveleth, MN. They made their home in Elgin, IL that same year, as Jeff began working for the Social Security Administration, as a claim representative. In 2008 he retired and they moved to their present home on Lake Shetek, in Murray County, MN. He held a pilot’s license and both he and his wife enjoyed flying their plane out of the Worthington Airport. He also enjoyed bowling, movies, water skiing and living on the lake. On Thursday, June 3, 2010 Jeff died at his home on the lake at the age of 55. Jeff is survived by his wife, Karen Cleland of Tracy, MN; his mother, Lucille Cleland of Luverne, MN; one brother, Michael (Cathy) Cleland of St. Cloud, MN; one nephew, Andy Cleland of St. Cloud, MN; three brothers-in-law, Daniel (Rose) Skenzich of Coon Rapids, MN, Ronald (Patricia) Skenzich of Hermantown, MN and Gary (Josine) Skenzich of Coon Rapids, MN; other nieces, nephews and friends. His father and his wife’s parents preceded him in death.
