Jeffrey Clair Dahl was born on October 30, 1952, to Curtis and Helen (Rewerts) Dahl in Granite Falls, Minnesota. He was baptized and confirmed at Christ Lutheran Church in Cottonwood. He graduated from Cottonwood High School in 1970. Jeff graduated from Augsburg College in 1974. He played basketball and baseball there, being inducted into their Athletic Hall of Fame in 2007. On August 12, 1978, he married Jean Maland in Minneapolis. Jeff was the very proud father of two sons; Andrew and Aaron. He worked for Magnuson Painting until becoming a rural carrier for the Postal Service in Cottonwood. He also loved coaching boys B-Squad and Varsity basketball at Lakeview High School in earlier years. He served as a church trustee and was a member of the Cottonwood Fire Department for 20 years.
Jeff died unexpectedly at his residence Wednesday, September 30, 2009.
Jeff is survived by his wife, Jean of Cottonwood, two sons: Andrew and Aaron both of St. Paul; his mother Helen Dahl of Cottonwood, one sister, Jane (Curt) Emerson of Canal Winchester, OH; two brothers, John (Sharon) of Cottonwood, Joel (Kathy) of Cottonwood, mother-in-law Helen Maland of Cottonwood; two sisters-in-law, Mary Leverett of Overland Park, KS and Kathleen Maland of Seattle, WA and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and his father-in-law Morris Maland.
