Jeffrey Scott Ellingson was born on Sunday, August 15, 1965 to LeRoy and Joanne (Radke) Ellingson in Tracy, Minnesota. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Tracy Lutheran Church in Tracy, and attended and graduated from Tracy Area Public Schools in 1984. After graduation, Jeff enlisted into the United States Army and was sent overseas to Germany for a few years before being honorably discharged and returning home to the Tracy and Amiret Communities.
In 1991, Jeff was united in marriage to Nicole Vercruysse at Tracy Lutheran Church and to this union two daughters were born, Victoria and Sydnee. They made their home in Wisconsin for a few years before returning to Minnesota and moving to Marshall. Later in life, Jeff met Andrea Bertrand and together they had a son, Chase. Jeff worked for Spee Dee Delivery Service for 22 years. After 22 years with Spee Dee, he decided to do something different and went to work as a contractor for a few years before opening his own contracting business in Marshall called Contractor of Choice. Jeffâs business and his family was his life.
Jeff enjoyed hunting, fishing, especially ice fishing, boating, snowmobiling, and riding motorcycles. Jeff and his son Chaser did Tae Kwon Do together at Leeâs Tae Kwon Do in Marshall. Most of all, Jeff loved to spend time with his children, brothers, and his family.
On Tuesday, December 15, 2015, Jeff passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at the Avera-McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 50 years, 4 months, and 2 days.
