John Phillip Nuy was born on October 7, 1957, in Marshall, MN, to Henry and Annie (Van Damme) Nuy. He attended Marshall Schools and graduated in 1975. John lived in Minneota, Green Valley, and Marshall. He worked for Floyd Wild Trucking, Swift & Company, Cattoors and Koch pipeline before transferring to Algona, Iowa, where he was a Pipeline Technician for NuStar Pipeline. In 1976, he was united in marriage to Sandy Thedans. To this union were born sons Jason and Cory. John enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed gardening, especially his tomato plants, cooking and over the road trucking. He will be remembered for his flannel shirts, listening to WCCO Radio and watching Wheel of Fortune. He was an avid and enthusiastic Minnesota Vikings fan and also enjoyed following NASCAR racing.
John died on Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at St. Maryâs Hospital in Rochester, MN, after lengthy illnesses. He is survived by his wife, Sandy, of Algona, mother Annie of Minneota, sons Jason (and Jennifer) of Sanford, NC, Cory (and Danielle) of Waite Park, grandchildren Myra, Kendall and Holden, siblings Phillip (and Donna) Nuy, Kathy (and Don)Collins, Mary Lou (and John) Wiltse, Tom (and Val) Nuy and Mike (and Shannon) Nuy, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father Henry and nephew, Dean.
