Joseph Clark

Joseph Raymond Clark was born December 3, 1929 in Marshall, youngest son of John and Anna (Elbers) Clark. Joe graduated from Lynd High School in 1948. Joe and Jean Marie Qunell were united in marriage on April 11, 1950. They farmed the early years, later they moved to Marshall and Joe worked for Coca Cola Manufacturing, also Moor Man’s feeds, where he acquired many lifelong friends and customers. After retirement Joe worked for Schwans. Joe and Jean enjoyed traveling. Joe took great pride in their 10 Mile Lake cabin where many friends and family enjoyed fishing, telling tall tales and campfires. Joe was a dedicated woodworker, fisherman and hunter. Since retiring to Boulder Estates, Joe created a memorial garden and enjoyed morning coffees at “The Quarry.” Joe died on Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at the Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls. Joe is survived by his children, Michael (Linda) Clark of Wisconsin, Mary (Steve) Morgan of Marshall and Cathy (Rodney) Vellinga of Iowa; eight grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and brother, John Clark. Joe was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jean; infant son, Dennis; siblings, Rose Ellen Clark, Elizabeth (Babe) McLaughlin, James Clark, Patrick Clark, Anna Marie “Toni” Kelly.
