Joseph Paul Guza was born on May 1, 1920, in Marble Township, Lincoln County, to Michael and Mary (Polaszek) Guza. He grew up and attended rural school in Marble Township. On February 23, 1954, he was united in marriage to Bonnie Fredricks at St. John Cantius Catholic Church in Wilno. The couple farmed and raised their family in the Minneota area. Joe loved fishing, especially with his family. He also enjoyed carpentry work and completed many woodworking projects. He was an active member of the Faith Family Christian Center in Marshall.
Joe died on Tuesday, January 27, 2009, at the Sanford Health Sylvan Court in Canby, MN. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie, of Minneota, children Melvin (and Marianne) Guza of Hendricks, Debbie (and Al) Gratz of Minneota, Doris (and Doug) Zeug of Lucan, Alvin (and Lori) Guza of Minneota, Donna (and Lonnie) Mercie of Vesta, Kalvin (and Wendy) Guza of Lake Benton, Sheldon (and Lauri Johnson) Guza of Minneota, Stephen (and Tammy) Guza of Ivanhoe, 26 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Cecilia Guza, Rose Sik, Frank, William and Thomas Guza.
