Joseph Francis Rader was born on April 11, 1936, in St. Leo, MN, to Anton and Cecilia (Skrypek) Rader. He grew up in St. Leo. On July 10, 1965, he was united in marriage to Hilaria Kopka. The couple made their home and raised their family on a hobby farm near Clarkfield. Joe worked as a Caterpillar Driver for McLaughlin & Schulz Road Construction for more than 45 years. He was a very hard worker. For the last three years, the couple has been living in Marshall. Joe was an active grandfather and loved spending time with the grandkids. He enjoyed following their activities and together they enjoyed reading books, coloring pictures, playing cards and board games. Joe also enjoyed the outdoors and fishing.
Joe died on Wednesday, November 15, 2017, at the Avera Morningside Heights Care Center in Marshall. He is survived by his wife, Hilaria, of Marshall, son Bruce (and Susan) Rader of Plymouth, grandsons Matt and Luke, daughter Rose (and Tom) Reisdorfer of Adrian, grandchildren Jason and Katie, daughter Pam (and Grant) Johnson of Chaska, grandson Joe, brother Lawrence (and Marly) Rader of St. Leo and sister Sr. Rosemary of St. Paul, many nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and 10 siblings.
