Judy Norstegard Morris was born on May 13, 1944 to Oscar and Lillian (Weis) Norstegard. Judy spent a relatively idyllic childhood in the small town of Westbrook Minnesota surrounded by her extended family and friends. In her early twenties she moved to Denver, Colorado, to experience some big city adventures.
In Denver, she met a number of people who would become her lifelong friends and married Rob Morris, with whom she enjoyed 29 years of an adventurous union. With her husband she moved to Rand, Colorado and worked for Colorado Walden ASCS for six years where she gained the love and respect of the ranching community in Grand, Jackson, and Summit counties. In 1986 she moved to Empire, Colorado. There she and her husband established a successful combination restoration, leaded glass and antique business called East Park Avenue Antiques. Judy quickly became an active part of the community and helped organize and run many community events. She was also a member and secretary of the Empire Business Association.
Judy loved her gardens, native birds, and a parade of cats. She was a true Colorado resident, but never forgot her small town Minnesota roots, and visited family and friends in Westbrook often.
Judy died on July, 23, 2008 after a short illness.
She is survived by her husband, Rob Morris, her son, Rob Junior, her brother, Orland and his wife Janice Norstegard, her nieces, Jody and Brenda and her nephews Tom and Mike.
Preceding her in death are her parents Oscar and Lillian Norstegard.
Judy was an inspiration to many and a friend to all, she will be sorely missed.
