Kevin was born to Jon and Barbara (Schreiber) Guttormsson on May 12, 1962, in Marshall, MN. He attended St. Edward Catholic School through 8th grade and graduated from Minneota High School in 1980. He attended Vo-Tech school in Pipestone and Canby for auto mechanics. Kevin served in the Army National Guard from April 1988 to April 1994. He returned to Canby Vo-Tech to enroll in their Electrician Program and graduated in 1993. He found being an electrician to be a very rewarding career. Over the years, he was employed at numerous businesses, most recently at Werner Brothers, Inc. Kevin was united in marriage to Renae Roles on July 21, 1990. They were blessed with two sons: Tyler and Dillon. He was a very loving and devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle, in-law and friend. Kevin valued most spending time with his family. Together, they attended numerous sporting events, hunted, fished, and rode "snow machines." He could be found on most evenings helping with homework and offering words of wisdom to his sons and playing with his hunting dog, Hunter. He loved vacation time with family. In January, they visited Texas to attend Tyler's graduation from the Air Force Basic Military Training. He was extremely proud of his sons' accomplishments. Kevin was always offering a lending hand. His untimely departure left many projects undone including his dream of restoring his 1970 Chevelle with his boys. Kevin's sharp wit and quick comebacks always amused young and old alike.
Kevin is survived by Renae, his loving wife of almost 19 years; his two sons, Tyler, 18, currently stationed in Florida and Dillon, 15; his parents, Jon and Barbara Guttormsson of Taunton; four brothers, Greg (Amy) of Plymouth, Jerry (Michelle) of Queen Creek, AZ, Eric (Ann) of Taunton and Dale of Taunton; one sister, Lois (Brad) Adkins of St. Michael; mother-in-law, Carol Roles; brothers-in-law, Richard (Donna) Roles, Darwyn Roles, Ryan (Stacia) Roles; sister-in-law, Denise (John) DeCock; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Joe and Helene Schreiber; paternal grandparents, Ragnar and Ada Guttormsson; one cousin, Damian Maertens; and his father-in-law, Ed Roles.
