LaVon A. Egge age 84 of Kandiyohi, MN, (formerly of Walnut Grove) died Monday, June 9, 2008 at the Ventures Assisted Living in Willmar, MN. Service will be 1:00 PM Thursday, June 12, 2008 at the Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Kandiyohi. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 PM Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at the church in Kandiyohi and continue one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery in Murdock, MN at 3:30 PM, following a luncheon after the service LaVon Ardis Egge was born April 20, 1924 to Arthur and Ida (Hagen) Petersen on a farm near Dunnel, MN. She was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith and attended coutry school near her home. On April 4, 1948 LaVon married Russell Egge and they made their home on a farm near Walnut Grove, MN. They moved to a farm near Murdock, MN in 1956 and into Murdock itself in 1970. After her husband’s death in 1990, LaVon remained in their home until 1992, when she moved to Tracy, MN. In the past, LaVon worked as a waitress in Walnut Grove and also in Murdock for many years. In 2004 she moved to Kandiyohi, MN to be near her son’s family. LaVon enjoyed gardening, collecting angel pictures and figurines, socializing with her friends and spending time with her family. She was a current member of the Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Kandiyohi and was very active in the churches women’s groups, both in Tracy and in Kandiyohi, over the years. In 2007 LaVon became a resident of the Ventures Assisted Living in Willmar, MN where she died Monday, June 9, 2008 at the age of 84. LaVon is survived by her daughter-in-law, Beverly Egge of Kandiyohi, MN; five grandsons, Randy (Jenny) Egge, Tom Egge, James (Sherry) Egge, Ben (Kris) Egge and Nick Egge; four step-grandchildren, David, Michael, and Chad Egge and April (Keith) Cramlet; twelve great grandchildren; three sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews. Her husband, Russell, her parents, one son, Duane, one step-son, Alan, two sisters and five brothers all preceded her in death.
