Leo Fier was born March 2, 1922 to Joseph and Veronica (Blaszak) Fier on the family farm in Lincoln County, Alta Vista Township. He attended country school and was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith at St. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Taunton.
