Leo Leibfried was born to LeRoy and Anna (Kuehl) Leibfried on October 23, 1923 at Dundee, Minnesota. He attended country school and then Westbrook High School and graduated in 1941. He and Onealea Seemann were married on October 23, 1943. They had four children; 3 sons and one daughter. Two sons died at childbirth. In September of 1974, he and Elowine Kelm were married. Leo worked in Minneota at the Country Club and the Lyon County Highway Department for 26 years. Leo enjoyed spending time at the Senior Center playing cards with all of his friends and watching sports on television.
Leo died on Friday, December 28, 2007, at the Avera Marshall Regional Medical Center in Marshall.
He is survived by his wife, Elowine, of Marshall, children; Nancy (Al) Johnson of Minneota, son, Doug (and Barb) Leibfried of Shakopee, Gretchen (and Harvey) Suhr of Ivanhoe, Bruce (and Joyce) Kelm of Albany, OR, Karen (and Dave) Haroldson of Granite Falls, 17 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by brothers; Dennis (and Dorothy) Leibfried of Ivanhoe, Jim (and Mary) Leibfried of Winnepeg, Canada and sisters; Betty Dahlhoff of Slayton, Florence (and Lyle) Schwanke of Sanborn and Eileen Jeppesen of Worthington. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, one grandson and one son-in-law.
