Leona Margaret (Roles) Eischens was born on October 5, 1924, at home in Burton Township to Mathias and Louella (Dahl) Roles. She grew up on the family farm and attended country school near St. Leo. On April 30, 1946, she was united in marriage to Clarence Henry Eischens. The couple farmed and raised their family near St. Leo. After Clarenceâs death in 1982, Leona moved to Minneota. She was an active member of the Senior Citizens Center where she enjoyed playing cards and bingo, served as treasurer for many years and donated countless embroidered dish towels. She enjoyed sewing and other needlework. She also enjoyed flower gardening and following the Minnesota Twins. Leona was most passionate about spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Leona died on Thursday, June 06, 2013, at the Minneota Manor. She is survived by her children Karen (and Roger) Boerboom of Olivia, Sue (and Dean) Gorecki of Minneota, Curt (and Wendy) Eischens of Minneota, Lou Eischens of Marshall, Edna (and Bruce) Gossen of Minneota, Faye (and Larry) Haugen of Glenwood, 18 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and two on the way, siblings Janet (and Lawrence) Buysse of Minneota, Doris Stachowski of Minneapolis, brother-in-law Tony Kopka of Marshall and sister-in-law Carol Roles of Minneota, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Clarence, son Francis, great-granddaughter Jenna, siblings Edward Roles, Eugene Roles and Irene Kopka.
