Leona Beatrice Pape was born on June 9, 1922, in Armour SD, the daughter of James and Eva (Unk) Pesicka. She married Rolland Pol who died in 1950, later married Merle Sigfried and in 1980 married LaVerdos âBudâ Pape in Redwood Falls, MN. They lived on the Pape farm near Marshall until moving into Marshall in 1983. She had worked for JC Penny in Redwood Falls and as a seamstress in her home in Marshall. She enjoyed bowling, sewing and was a faithful TOPS member. Leona died on Saturday, June 28, 2008, in Minneota.
She is survived by her husband, Bud, of Marshall, daughters: Jean (Dennis) Feifarek of Blomkest, MN, Irma Penske of Federal Heights, CO and Barbara (Terry) Twedt of Forest Lake, MN, five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters: Goldie Kolecka and Pearl Farke, both of Armour, SD, Joan LeDoux of Minneapolis and Ruth Creasy of Mitchell, SD. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands: Rolland and Merle, daughter, Carole and grandson, Tony Burtzel.
