A celebration of life for Leonard âLennyâ Deschepper, age 82 of Marshall, will be at a later date.
Leonard âLennyâ Francis DeSchepper was born on September 21, 1937 in Ghent to Frank and Victoria (Skierecki) DeSchepper. He grew up in Marshall and graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1956. Before he was married, Lenny worked at his uncleâs printing press, delivering newspapers, and at the drive-in movie theater. On November 21, 1959, he was united in marriage to his sweetheart, Marjorie (Connell) DeSchepper at Holy Redeemer Church. Lenny worked as the manager at the Standard station in Marshall before starting his own service station in 1969, which was a town fixture until his retirement in 2013. He enjoyed visiting with his customers at the station, hunting, fishing and trapshooting with his boys, snowmobiling with friends, driving around in the '53 Olds with Marj, playing numerous games of bingo, and spending time with his grandchildren. Lenny was admired for his kind conversation and his willingness to help everyone.
Lenny died unexpectedly at home on Saturday, March 28, 2020.
He is survived by his sons Jeffrey of Marshall and Brian (and Dawn) of Marshall; his grandchildren Ethan and Emily DeSchepper, his brother Bob and (Marilyn) DeSchepper of Utah, and his sisters Mary Ann Hanson of Marshall, Frances Andrzejewski of Marshall, and Jeanne DeSchepper of Utah. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Marjorie.
