Lillian E. Folkerts, age 82, of Marshall passed away on March 17 and a memorial service will be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Marshall on Friday, March 21 at 11:00 a.m.
Lillian was born to Peter H and Pearl M (Christianson) Kosberg on April 9, 1931 in Hendricks, MN. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Free Church. She graduated from Hendricks High School in 1949. Lillian is a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
In 1950 she married Ted H. Folkerts. Together they spent a life in the Air Force, making their home wherever they were stationed, from Spain and Germany to stateside bases. She enjoyed making new friends and taking care of her family. She also enjoyed playing cards crocheting and her activities with church and school.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, parents, brothers; Harvey Kosberg of Sioux Falls, SD and Peder (Evelyn) Kosberg of Mankato and sisters; Rae (Erwin) Christianson of Missoula, MT, Janyce (Don) Bylander of Sioux Falls, SD and Joyce (Bob) English of Anchorage, AK and brother-in-law, Orville Rockman of Marshall.
Survivors include her children; Rodney (Diane) Folkerts of Rapid City, SD, Sheila (Mike) Anderson of Freeport, ME and Sonja (Bob) Ransom of Vancouver, WA, grandchildren; Michael (Carrie) Anderson, Gregory (Heather) Ransom, Rachel Ransom, Cristopher Ransom, great grandchildren; Endre and Lars Anderson and Jordan Ransom. She is also survived by her sister, Anne Rockman of Marshall, sister-in-law Arlene Kosberg of Sioux Falls, SD, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Lillian leaves her special friends of Hill Street Place and Vancouver, WA.
Lillian will be interred beside her husband at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland Oregon.
